Finance teams often struggle with time consuming requests for account updates, open invoices, or historical payments from their customers. And as your customer base grows, so does the amount of time it takes to respond to these requests. Outside of those challenges, today’s customers expect a hands-on, self-serve experience so they don’t have to reach out to your finance team.
For companies using Dynamics 365 Business Central, there is an easy solution to this problem. With the iPayments and the Customer Portal from iSolutions, you can provide your customers access to their open and historical invoices, order history, and allow them to pay online via credit card or ACH in a click of a button.
Automatically Notify Your Customers About Invoices from Dynamics 365 Business Central
Once iPayments is set up, it automatically pulls in contact records associated with each customer, including names and email addresses. You can configure checkboxes to determine who should receive invoices when they’re posted—ensuring the right people get the right documents, every time.
These invoices can be automatically emailed to each contact and shown within the Customer Portal.
You have control over rights and permissions in the portal. Admins are able to see all statements and history for their organization while Limited users can only see the invoices with their contact information on it. All data pulls directly from Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Statements or Individual Invoices? You Choose.
Whether you want to send individual invoice reminders or grouped statements, iSolutions gives you flexibility. With the group feature enabled, customers receive a single email summarizing all invoices.
Within the Customer Portal, your customers can choose to pay invoices individually, or can pay multiple simultaneously.
Flexible Payment Options: Click-to-Pay and Portal Access
Customers can pay in several ways:
- Automated invoice emails with an embedded click-to-pay link that leads to a landing page.
- Customer Portal: A real-time, secure portal connected directly to Business Central
With both options, your customers access a webpage with your logo and branding and can pay by credit card or ACH. That payment is applied to the invoice in Business Central.
The portal allows customers to:
- View open invoices, credit memos, and quotes
- Make payments via card or ACH
- Access full transaction history
- See all orders—not just invoices
Secure, Real-Time Access
- No data is stored outside of Business Central
- Admins can see all activity; users only see what they’re authorized to
- Credit card data is stored securely in Fiserv, using tokenization for PCI compliance
Automated Collection Plans for Business Central
Sometimes, no matter how easy it is to make payments, your customers can fall behind. With the iPayments toolbox of payment solutions, you can create custom collection plans for scenarios related to due date, posting date, or document date. Automatic reminders notify customers before payments are due and then continue to remind them as due dates approach and pass.
You can define exactly what happens as invoices age. For example:
- Customize email templates to escalate tone over time
- Use HTML or Word templates for branded communications
- Attach invoices and merge fields dynamically
- Bulk-assign plans to customers and schedule them via the job queue
You can even set reminders to run multiple times per day or week—automatically. These can include both a link to Click-to-Pay or to the Customer Portal for easy payment.
Within Business Central, the collections grid shows all outstanding invoices within a selected time frame. Your sales reps and finance teams can easily see which of their customers are past due and by how much.
You can also:
- View full ledger details for any invoice
- Add notes, including “promise to pay” reminders
- Track all customer interactions in one place
Additionally you can see who the collector is and what plan they are on.
iPayments from iSolutions makes it easier for finance teams using Dynamics 365 Business Central to automate and collect on payments faster. The Advanced Collections features are included in iPayments Basic, while the Customer Portal is included with iPayments Advanced.
