MSI TEC Modernizes ERP with Dynamics 365 and iSolutions Embedded Payments

In 2022, MSI TEC made the strategic decision to transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, seeking a modern ERP system that could better support their growing business. Their previous version of ERP had become outdated and increasingly limited in functionality, prompting the need for a more flexible and scalable solution.

At the time, MSI TEC was using a PayPal connector for credit card processing. However, they wanted to look at other software during their ERP change. Their Business Central partner recommended iSolutions because iPayments is natively embedded in Dynamics 365 Business Central, and they had success with other customers using the iPayments product.

“It’s key for us that it’s embedded in Business Central. That’s where our people live,” said Brandon Spiesman, MSI TEC’s Information System Manager.  “Our goal is to keep a minimal amount of third-party applications that are outside of Business Central as possible. Having everything integrated is the first thing we look at.”

MSI TEC adopted iPayments at go-live with Business Central. The iSolutions team was able to launch the app within the BC environment and since then, the solution has become a reliable part of their operations.

 

No Help Tickets Needed: iPayments Proves Its Value

Spiesman oversees internal applications across the organization. While he frequently receives support tickets for most systems in use, iPayments stands out for its reliability—he shared that his team very rarely receives a help ticket related to the solution. “Everything just works,” Brandon noted.

When he did reach out to the iSolutions support team, his experience was above expectations.

“The interaction I had with the team was great. They responded fast and got a call with me to go over the question. There were no issues talking with them about anything. There are other extensions that require the partner to be involved, which costs us money. iSolutions answered our questions quickly,” said Spiesman.

 

Enhanced Efficiency with Click-to-Pay, Customer Portal, and Advanced Collections in Business Central

MSI TEC uses iPayments to streamline and simplify their entire payment process. Their accounting and customer service teams benefit from the built-in collections management tools, which they use extensively. They enjoy the features that help track outstanding balances and follow up efficiently.

Several features MSI TEC had hoped for are now available in the latest release of Advanced Collections—thanks to suggestions from other users. MSI Tec is currently implementing the update to take advantage of these enhancements.

With everything embedded in Business Central, the solution fits seamlessly into their workflow and supports their goal of minimizing reliance on third-party systems.
