Business Central Version Support Policy Update

Jun 2, 2026

iSolutions is updating our Business Central version support policy to better align with Microsoft’s Modern Lifecycle Policy and to help ensure our clients remain secure, compliant, and positioned to take advantage of ongoing platform enhancements.

This change reflects both Microsoft’s evolving support model and our commitment to delivering high-quality, forward-looking services.

What Is Changing

Historically, our support policy extended beyond Microsoft’s standard lifecycle by supporting multiple previous versions of Business Central for on-premises deployments.

Effective immediately, our policy is changing to the following:

  • We will support Business Central versions that are currently supported by Microsoft.
  • When a version reaches end of support with Microsoft, it will no longer be considered a supported version under our standard support services.

For current version support timelines, please refer to Microsoft’s official lifecycle documentation:

Why We Are Making This Change

Microsoft has moved to a modern lifecycle model for Business Central, which emphasizes continuous updates and shorter release cycles. Under this model:

  • New versions are released twice per year.
  • Each version is supported for a limited period.
  • Ongoing support is dependent on staying current with updates.

Aligning our policy with Microsoft’s model allows us to:

  • Ensure clients remain within supported and secure environments
  • Deliver more consistent and predictable support outcomes
  • Focus our expertise on current and actively supported platform capabilities
  • Reduce risk associated with outdated or unsupported software

What This Means for You

To continue receiving full support services, iSolutions products must operate within a Business Central version that is actively supported by Microsoft.

As part of our standard support services for Business Central, we provide ongoing delivery of application updates in the form of runtime packages for on-premise instances of Business Central.

  • One runtime package can be provided per quarter under standard support services (upon request).
  • The availability of runtime packages may lag slightly behind the latest version if the iSolutions application published in AppSource.
  • Our delivery timeline reflects the time required to validate compatibility, ensure quality, and maintain consistency across supported environments.

If your organization is currently running an older version, we recommend planning for an upgrade to a supported version in line with Microsoft’s lifecycle timelines and upgrading to a supported version of the iSolutions products.

Our team is available to help assess your current environment and develop an upgrade strategy that aligns with your business goals.

Risks of Using Unsupported Versions

Running a version of an iSolutions product in a version of Business Central that is no longer supported by Microsoft introduces several operational and technical risks. These may include:

  • Integrations with Microsoft services or third-party solutions may become unreliable or cease to function as expected.
  • Lack of access to new product and platform capabilities. Organizations will not benefit from ongoing enhancements, performance improvements, and innovation delivered in newer releases.
  • No access to updates and fixes
  • Reduced ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues by our support team.

To mitigate these risks, we strongly recommend maintaining an upgrade strategy that aligns with Microsoft’s supported version lifecycle.
